What is Training Design & Support?
Matching content expertise with process expertise to prepare a specific learning experience - in-person, virtual, or hybrid - for targeted learners.
Match Sarah's training expertise with your team's content expertise to make it more accessible to your training participants!
From a checkbox training that learners do while multi-tasking, to an engaging and highly relevant experience that learners invest in immediately and benefit from continuously!
Training design consultation
a 2- to 3-hour engagement where we discuss your training, clarify learning objectives together, discuss appropriate platforms (in-person, virtual, hybrid) for the training, brainstorm on training session formats, and share potential challenges, overarching guidance, and little-known tips and tricks
The consultation might target specific complications or new elements, such as moving a training online, designing for participants connecting from low-internet-bandwidth environments, or convening learners from very different backgrounds and experiences with the training topic.
Learning arc
co-design
A collaborative process, including some sensemaking steps [LINK], where we clearly define learning objectives that consider informational, application-based, and relational gains, and then design backward to training content and session structures that target these objectives, often ending in a highly detailed outline of training sessions, including initial plans for timing, resources, potential formats, and assessments
Training co-facilitation
A collaborative facilitation of the training, with an internally designated co-facilitator, to ensure a smooth experience for all - supporting learners as they advance through the training, leading any live sessions, troubleshooting any issues that arise, and thoroughly observing and noting areas for future improvements
+ Facilitation coaching
+ Design iteration
Co-facilitation of the training, accompanied by:
-
Facilitation coaching: intentional support for building the co-facilitator's facilitation skills through practice sessions, intentional goal-setting and debriefings, and other coaching formats
-
Design iteration: leading debriefing, planning, and execution of training improvements based on the initial experience
